General Rules

  • Do not create multiple user accounts.
  • Do not defy the moderators expressed wishes!
  • Do not upload our torrents to other trackers.
  • Disruptive behaviour in the forums or on the shoutbox will result in a warning ( ).
You will only get one warning! After that it's bye bye Kansas!

Downloading Rules

  • Access to the newest torrents is conditional on a good ratio!
  • Low ratios may result in severe consequences, including banning in extreme cases.
  • This site's auto-warning system works as follows:
    - more than 4 g/b downloaded, ratio below .35, warned for 7 days
    - more than 10 g/b downloaded, ratio below .45, warned for 10 days
    - more than 20 g/b downloaded, ratio below .55, warned for 13 days
    - more than 30 g/b downloaded, ratio below .65, warned for 16 days

General Forum Guidelines

  • No spoilers. If you want to discuss the result of a fight, please do so in the appropriate thread that will be labeled Fighter A vs Fighter B – SPOILERS!!! Please do not post things in other threads that might give away a recent result (such as “Now I'd like to see Fighter A face so and so” when that obviously indicates that he won his last fight).
Until a few days have passed, assume that people don't know what happened. Many members purposely avoid finding out the results until they can actually watch the fight. There is nothing worse than having the result ruined by a careless comment in the forums.
  • No aggressive behaviour or flaming in the forums.
  • No trashing of other peoples topics (i.e. SPAM).
  • No language other than English in the forums.
  • No swearing in the forums.
We like to have intelligent conversations in this community. Swearing adds nothing to a conversation and it is not tolerated.
  • No bumping... (All bumped threads will be deleted.)
  • No images larger than 800x600, and preferably web-optimised.
  • No double posting. If you wish to post again, and yours is the last post in the thread please use the EDIT function, instead of posting a double.
  • Please ensure all questions are posted in the correct section!
  • Last, please read the FAQ before asking any questions!

Avatar Guidelines

  • The allowed formats are .gif, .jpg and .png.
  • Be considerate. Resize your images to a width of 150 px and a size of no more than 150 KB. (Browsers will rescale them anyway: smaller images will be expanded and will not look good; larger images will just waste bandwidth and CPU cycles.) For now this is just a guideline but it will be automatically enforced in the near future.
  • Do not use potentially offensive material involving porn, religious material, animal / human cruelty or ideologically charged images. Mods have wide discretion on what is acceptable. If in doubt PM one.

Uploading Rules

  • Do not upload any of the following:
  • MMA, K1, Wrestling, etc. - Even if it contains a boxer, please do not upload.
  • Boxing movies like Raging Bull or Cinderella Man. This is a boxing tracker, not a movie tracker.
Documentaries pertaining to boxing/boxers are allowed.
  • Retail/Commercial DVD's and Instructional Videos (or compressed avi's, mpg's of them)
  • Maxboxing, 15Rounds or any other pay site content.
If you obtained sparring/workout material over the 'net and are unsure where it came from, please do not upload.
  • Any Contender series material. NOTE: 'Outside' matches are ok to upload, the TV EP's are still off-limits, however.
Both uploaders and downloaders of items in the first five categories above will receive warnings.
  • Please do not post .rar or .zip archives unless they are boxing pictures. Please be kind and unpack these before uploading.
  • DVD's made out of re-encoded or converted avi's, mp4's, mpg-1's, or any other source files not originally captured as mpg-2/vob
  • Multi video file career torrents. The quality varies too much and it is impossible to keep them properly seeded.

  • Mandatory Screenshot Guidelines

  • A minimum of two screenshots per upload
  • At least one active (not passive) screenshot if it is a fight, so please do not just include the tale of the tape and stare down!
  • The screenshot resolution must be the same as the video's native resolution (VLC screen capture will take care of this).  No thumbnails unless they link to the full resolution screen shot
  • No screenshots past round 1 of a fight
  • If the broadcast contains more than one fight, there is no need for screenshots of all the fights
  • If a DVD contains fights from different broadcasts, and the broadcasts are of different quality, please include a screenshot for each fight
  • Repeated violations will result in warnings and/or bans.

  • No Duplicates/Redundant uploads - Please follow these simple steps to help keep the tracker clean and streamlined:
  • Prior to uploading a file, perform a basic torrent search. Check the 'including dead' option when you perform your search.
  • If the same exact file is already on the tracker and it has seeders, you can just go to the original torrent page
    and help seed that torrent.
  • If the torrent is dead but has leechers, you can just reseed it.
  • If the torrent is dead and has no leechers, you may go ahead and re-upload it.
  • If you wish, you can then announce your reseed/re-upload in the 'Your Uploads/Downloads' section of the forum and include the url.
  • If the fight you want to upload is on the tracker but it's not the same exact file, please do not upload if it is not a meaningful addition.
  • Is it a clear upgrade in terms of quality?
  • Is it a version that would fit on a CD-R as opposed to a larger file?
  • Is it widescreen rather than 4:3? Is it a DVD file rather than an avi?
  • Is it an English version as opposed to one in a foreign language?
  • In other words, make sure you are adding something meaningful in some dimension that would matter to our users.

  • General uploading Rules
  • Please do not upload just for the sake of uploading, seeking to selfishly increase your ratio.
  • Make sure that you are contributing to the site and not just crowding the tracker or displacing someone else's upload.
  • Make sure that your upload is labeled for the correct category and contains the proper date and details.
  • Make sure your torrents are well-seeded for at least 24 hours.
  • Do not include the outcome of the fight (this means don't put it in the torrent name, description or comments).

DVD Sellers

  • This is an area where we have no remorse. None. If you sell boxing DVDs, you are not welcome here. Even if you are selling your own caps, you are not welcome. Anybody who is caught selling will be banned immediately and permanently with no questions asked. Those are the consequences. If you'd like to know the reasons, feel free to keep reading.
  • We here at WBVA, staff and members alike, are passionate about boxing. Boxing is a global sport, and good fights and important fights are fought all around the world. Belt holders and entertaining boxers who deserve to be seen may only be televised in a select few regions or countries. Because of this, fans, who live all around the world, are deprived of enjoying their careers, and the fighters are deprived of the attention they deserve
  • In addition to limited access to current fights, there is virtually no way to watch great fights from boxing's rich history. Legends and icons of the past still cast long shadows over the sport today, yet they are invisible not because they weren't filmed, but because those who own the films don't make them accessible (for free or purchase). It's hard to believe that there is no way to watch their fights. It's incredible that hundreds of legendary fights are out of reach for most fans.
  • However, for the persistent, there are a few ways to obtain these elusive fights. One way is by trading with other fight fans and collectors. Another, relatively new way, is to download them from the internet on the different sites where people share them. And then there is buying them.
  • The owner of this site, and those of us with the privilege of helping run it, believe in spreading boxing as far and as wide as we can, and bringing new fans to the sport. We want to enable fans in different corners of the world to see fights from the other corners, and help all fans enjoy fights from the past. A large, informed fan base is one of the essential ingredients to keeping the sport healthy. We're proud to be one of the outlets among other websites, magazines, broadcasters, podcasters, and radio shows that make up this small but strong community.
  • Having explained all of this, it should be clear that we are strongly against the private selling of fights. We're not opposed to the selling of high quality DVDs by the owners of the rights to these fights. We would love to see those made available to fans. In keeping with this, we don't allow officially produced and sold DVDs on this site. But with regard to private selling, we believe in the strength of a community whose members share with each other, and will not tolerate those individuals who take advantage of fans by charging them for fights from their private collections
  • We are, and always have been, dedicated to keeping sellers from maintaining accounts here at WBVA where they download the hard work of our cappers and members who are gracious enough to share their collections with us, and then turn around and sell it to the next guy. We have banned sellers in the past, and we will continue to do so as we find them.

Shoutbox Rules

  • The shoutbox is for lonely people who want immediate attention. Seriously though, it is for chatting. You can ask people if they have suggestions for a good fight to watch, or a prediction on an upcoming fight, or any number of things.
  • It is not for:
  • Talking about recent fights (NO SPOILERS). Go into the 'Boxing Discussion' shoutbox to talk about fights. There is nothing worse than logging in to the site to download a fight and having it ruined on the opening page by a careless comment.

Making requests. We have a Request Forum for that. If you don't have access to post in there, there is a reason for that. Don't sidestep the rules by posting requests in the shoutbox.

Technical support. We also have a forum for that which every member has access to.
